Right of Withdrawal
For consumers who conclude the lawyer's engagement contract exclusively by means of distance communication (website, email, telephone).

The engagement relates exclusively to German family law and to proceedings before German family courts (Familiengericht).
Right of withdrawal
You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day of conclusion of the contract.

of your decision to withdraw from this contract by means of an unequivocal statement (e.g. a letter sent by post, a fax or an email). You may use the attached model withdrawal form for this purpose, but it is not obligatory.
In order to observe the withdrawal period, it is sufficient that you send your communication concerning the exercise of the right of withdrawal before the withdrawal period has expired.
Consequences of withdrawal
If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse to you all payments we have received from you without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which the notification of your withdrawal from this contract reached us. For this reimbursement we shall use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise with you; in no event will you be charged any fees for this reimbursement.
If you have requested that the service should begin during the withdrawal period, you shall pay us a reasonable amount corresponding to the proportion of the services already provided up to the time at which you inform us of the exercise of the right of withdrawal in respect of this contract, compared with the total scope of the services provided for in the contract.
Early expiry of the right of withdrawal
The right of withdrawal expires early if we have performed the service in full and only began performing the service after you had given your express consent to this and had at the same time confirmed your awareness that you lose your right of withdrawal once we have performed the contract in full (§ 356 Abs. 4 BGB – Section 356 (4) of the German Civil Code).

Note: In the online form you confirm, when placing your instruction, that we are to begin performance before the withdrawal period has expired. This ensures that your divorce proceedings are prepared without delay; your right of withdrawal remains in place until the service has been performed in full, in accordance with the instruction set out above.
We act exclusively under German family law and before German family courts (Familiengericht). The language of the court is German (§ 184 GVG): the divorce petition (Scheidungsantrag) and all court documents are filed in German. We advise you and correspond with you in German and in English.
